Every 400 ms,a block thatcannot be undone.
Read directly from rpc.sanect.com and the explorer API every few seconds. A dash means the source didn’t answer — never a placeholder number.
Parameters.
Set at genesis by scripts/localnet.sh and verifiable against the chain with verify-chain.sh.
Why 50, and why 400 ms.
A globally distributed BFT set needs ~180 ms for a ⅔ round-trip plus ~70 ms of execution and commit. 400 ms is the honest floor for a 50-validator, multi-region network — not a marketing number. Beyond ~150 active validators CometBFT can’t hold sub-second blocks without aggregation work that is out of v1 scope.
The target topology keeps stake under ⅔ in any single jurisdiction, so finality can neither be forced nor halted regionally. Reaching it is a recruitment programme — genesis validator seats →
Asia ≤ 52% · EU + US ≥ 32% of stake. Current active set is shown live above; this table is the design target.
Join the network.
Run an RPC node with no stake, or register a validator and enter the active set on stake alone. Snapshot fast-start brings a fresh node to tip in minutes.
